The origins of the PWC Talent Marketplace
Paul Courtaud : Your Talent Marketplace, launched a year ago, now has more than 75,000 employees in the United States and Mexico. What were the motivations behind this ambitious project?
Daghan Or : At PwC, our vision is crystal clear: to become the undisputed leader in talent development in professional services. Our “human led, tech enabled” philosophy guides this ambition. Faced with the increasing complexity of talent development, we have adopted a strategy based on skills data, with a dual tactical and strategic objective. This approach is permanently changing our organization by abolishing silos between business units, by offering total transparency on skills and opportunities, while creating a space where each employee fully expresses their potential.
Building the skills base with Neobrain technology
Paul Courtaud : You innovated by deploying your marketplace even before finalizing your competency framework, contrary to the traditional approach. What is the logic behind this bold approach?
Daghan Or : We decided to act with the available data, convinced that our knowledge of the career paths, sectors of activity and interests of our employees already constituted a solid basis. Neobrain's expertise proved decisive in this phase, as their AI engine excelled in identifying skills, both for our employees and for our positions. This innovative methodology generates matches that are more relevant than a conventional approach based on a pre-established framework.
Integrating the HR platform into an integrated HR environment
Paul Courtaud : Faced with the proliferation of HR tools, simplicity is becoming crucial. How did you meet this integration challenge with Neobrain?
Daghan Or : Our top priority: creating an intuitive and smooth user experience. Generative AI revolutionizes this approach by offering natural interfaces, supported by sophisticated algorithms. Our goal is simple: to deliver critical information at the right time. While our training and feedback systems and our marketplace remain fundamental, the challenge lies in their relevance for the end user. We do not want to impose tools, but to create obvious added value for each user.
Indicators of success one year after deployment
Paul Courtaud : After one year of operation, what indicators attest to the success of this project?
Daghan Or : The numbers speak for themselves: more than 35,000 employees out of 80,000 have already explored the Marketplace, including 10,000 active monthly users who are discovering opportunities in line with their aspirations. Our second phase promises to be even more promising with the introduction of an optimized job architecture, enriched by the Neobrain engine. The imminent launch of our new learning platform marks a decisive step towards a competency-based organization.
The keys to the success of a large-scale project
Paul Courtaud : A project of this scale deployed so quickly is remarkable. What were the key factors in this success?
Daghan Or : This success is based on three essential pillars. First, the unconditional support of our CEO and the commitment of stakeholders created a decisive impetus. Then, the passion and determination of our project team transformed each challenge into an opportunity. This synergy between visionary leadership and operational excellence has catalyzed our transformation. Finally, the expertise of the Neobrain teams, their ability to understand our needs and technological mastery made the adventure a success.
